Shore Praise This Friday 2/23!!

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007, 11:28 am [General]

Hey everyone!  It's been a while, but it's finally here!

Shore Praise is back!

And the Church needs to rise up and proclaim her King and Redeemer!!

Usually right here is where I add my witty, literary left-hook in order to grab your attention and really clinch your attendance at this upcoming worship celebration.  And if you've read this far, there's a already a good chance your considering coming.  Unfortunately, it's late and I'm coming up dry, which is probably all for the better because I will instead allow the divine and glorious Word of the Lord to step in and do what I cannot in providing the most inspiring and thrilling explanation of why we need to corporately worship the King of Kings.

Isaiah 44:21-23

" "Remember these things, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O Israel.  I have made you, you are my servant; O Israel, I will not forget you. I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you."  Sing for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done this; shout aloud, O earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees, for the LORD has redeemed Jacob, he displays his glory in Israel ."

We must lift up our voices and shout aloud for our great God! - Surely, there is none like Him!

Come out and testify in song concerning what the Lord has done for His people, and let's call all the nations to praise Him, starting with the Jersey Shore!

Of course we didn't cancel this one! (as some of the nasty rumors have been claiming) - we are having it, no doubt!  And we can't WAIT to get started with Shore Praise 2007 because it is gonna be new and improved!  How you ask?  Well, it's gonna be very similar to Shore Praise 2006, strikingly similar, almost too similar, except for one thing . . . IT'LL BE 2007!! which obviously makes Shore Praise one year older and that much better! (even though this is only the sixth one, and since they're once a month, that means it's only six months old, so that's not really one year older, but it sounds good anyway.)

Come out to worship the King, share His good news, build up the Church, sharpen one another, and be salt and light to a world that is dying and in need of a Savior!  Hope to see you all!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all from Shore Praise!

What a mighty God we serve! Contemplate His miraculous incarnation, the wonderful love He has shown us, and His awesome power to redeem His people throughout this Christmas season!  God bless!

in the matchless Name of Jesus, our great God and Redeemer forever,

serg

Shore Praise Update 11/21/2006

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006, 11:20 pm [General]

Isaiah 9:2,6 "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. . . . For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders.  And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
It gives me great pleasure to announce to all of you the first ever Shore Praise Christmas worship event!  It's coming soon!  And it only happens once a year (even though we've never even had one yet, and, hey, maybe we''ll do it twice a year if it works out real well) . . .

Featuring tons of our favorite Christmas carols, old and new!
This season belongs to the Church!  It is our celebration to remember the glorious day when our great God appeared to mankind; so everyone come on out and join the singing!
Now, in case you were wondering, Christmas carols can and should be sung just as loud as any other praise song, so we expect the same unbridled praise at this upcoming event as we do at any other.  After all, the King has come, and we rejoice in His marvelous light!
Matthew 1:21-23 " 'She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.'  All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 'The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel' - which means, 'God with us.' "
Praise the Lord for such an amazing gospel! Praise the Lord that He has not left us without a witness - He has given us Jesus, which means the LORD saves, who has testified concerning the coming judgment and the life that is found in Him alone!  Hallelujah!!
(click "reply" and simply type 'Amen' if you are as excited as I am about this incredible news of God coming down to dwell with us; then hit "send")
spread the Word - bring out friends - and as always, if you want to play, let me know . . .
Happy Thanksgiving! - praise God for the richness of His blessings and grace!
Merry Christmas to all! (playing of carols at home and in motor vehicles begins . . . NOW! - 'tis the season!)
see you all soon!
To God be the glory through Jesus Christ our Lord, now and forevermore!
with love and grace in Him,
serg

Shore Praise Update 11/6/2006

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006, 11:19 pm [General]

Praise the Lord for an awesome evening of worship and fellowship last Friday night at the coffeehouse!  Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us at our first Country Worship Night - the place was jumpin'!
And I thoroughly appreciate Gill Garbini and all the others who fully acknowledged the Southern praise by dressing for the occasion, complete with cowboy hats and all.
I think some of us may have shouted our loudest that night, and we're all the better for having embraced our grassroots hymn heritage.  I personally appreciated my brother's introduction of the washboard to the Shore Praise Coffeehouse experience (not to worry - that will hopefully make future appearances)
And a special thanks to Pastor Jim Loveland from Community Baptist Church in Neptune for coming out!  It is always a blessing and encouragement to see a faithful minister from another congregation come and join the celebration.
Tell your churches! - we want to get more and more Christians together from all over singing louder and louder for Jesus!
Everyone - keep spreading the word! - the next coffeehouse will be:
Friday, December 1
"His is called Emmanuel"
It's gonna be a special Christmas worship night!
Keep praising His glorious Name, Jesus our Redeemer and King forever!!
"'I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.' . . .Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests.' " Luke 2:10b-11,13-14
Grace and peace to all who are called by His Name, through Jesus Christ our Lord,
serg

Shore Praise Update 10/29/2006

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006, 11:19 pm [General]

Psalm 92:1-5, 8 "It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your Name, O Most High, to proclaim Your love in the morning and Your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.  For You make me glad by Your deeds, O LORD; I sing for joy at the works of Your hands.  How great are Your works, O LORD, how profound Your thoughts! . . . But You, O LORD, are exalted forever."
Hey everyone!
We are very excited to announce the Special Edition Shore Praise that is coming this Friday, November 3!
COUNTRY WORSHIP NIGHT
I wanted to send an e-mail to help clarify the nature of this unique Shore Praise event that you clearly do NOT want to miss.  We deliberated for a long time to find the best, most fitting title for this evening, and a general description seemed most appropriate.  Bluegrass Worship was what I was pulling for, but seeing as we have no banjo player or fiddler, both of which are required for authentic Bluegrass, we couldn't use that for fear of confusing people.  Because the hymns all have an old-time Southern flavor, my brother wanted Southern Worship Night, but country seemed the suitable compromise.  Here's what to expect:
For the elder folk, we are confident you will enjoy these favorite classic hymns.
"[Our] inclusion of hymns is not just a token nod to our forefathers' tastes, but rather humble recognition that we are standing on their faith, solid footing from which we are privileged to lead.  Our Foundation, like theirs before us, is the Bedrock, which is Christ the Lord.  Yet, there is a meaningful connectivity in knowing our worship is a continuation of theirs, in that we are linked to them by common prayers, songs and Word." - Louie Giglio, Passion Worship, Hymns Ancient and Modern
For the younger folk, this theme found its origins in the music of David Crowder*Band, specifically the songs Be Lifted or Hope Rising and I Saw the Light from the recent album A Collision and the bands subsequent endorsement of bluegrass praise.  AND you can't really compete with the massive back-beat generated by old Southern hymns that will prohibit you from sitting the entire evening.
(please read the following with a heavy southern drawl)
So, Ya'll Listen Up!
Clappin', singin', shoutin', praisin' - all at the top'a yer lungs!
And all for the King!
Now, while yer there, you may find yourself havin' a hanckerin' for singin' the words with a country twang and stompin' yer foot while clappin' - that's okay - it's all part of the southern praise experience . . . all finished off with some good 'ole fashioned bar-b-que and cornbread, er . . . uh . . . maybe just lattes, hot tea, and coffee cakes (didn't really work that part out yet)
It is time once again for the Church to gather and proclaim Him who died for us and rose again, our great Redeemer and Sovereign Lord, whose Name is above every Name!  Church, proclaim Him until He comes!  Come on out!  And bring family and friends to hear the blessed Gospel, of which we are NOT ashamed, for "it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes . . . For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last," Romans 1:16b-17a
He has redeemed for Himself a people that are His very own!
Praise the Lord!  I saw the Light!

Well, folks, it's been a long wait this time - five weeks - and I'm getting a little restless . . . the need to praise from the top of our lungs has been steadily increasing . . . but . . . have no fear . . . FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6, SHORE PRAISE COFFEEHOUSE is coming!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeremiah 20:9 "But if I say, 'I will not mention Him or speak any more in His Name,' His word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.  I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot."

I think I'm gonna burst! I encourage all to be in prayer and to be reading the Word to prepare for an evening of sincere praise that emanates from devoted hearts and lives!

Shore Praise Update 9/2/2006

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006, 11:12 pm [General]

Hey everyone!

Well, I have a very serious and important announcement to make.  It's official:
Shore Praise Coffeehouse now has a mandatory attendance quota for local Christian Surfers because they're awesome!!!
We need at least ten representatives from that crew at every Coffeehouse since we noticed that they sing and shout REALLY LOUD!! and  they laugh a whole lot and they're really friendly and talkative and they surf (which is pretty cool, even though it has nothing to do with a praise and worship coffeehouse) and they know lots of David Crowder* Band songs and  they keep singing as long as you keep playing music and they don't leave 'till we pretty much tell them they have to and then they help clean up and then talk some more, just a bit closer to the door 'cause they're still too friendly to actually leave, and they even sing and make noise when they don't know how the song goes just because they're excited and then they make their friends go up to sing along in front of everyone on a mic (thanks Danielle and Rey!) and they totally rocked out last night.  And so here is an official thank you to the Jersey Shore Christian Surfers from the Shore Praise Coffeehouse:
Don't stop shoutin' up to Jesus, our Matchless King!
And ALSO: Special thanks to Pastor Jim Loveland and Community Baptist Church in Neptune for sending so many from their congregation to join the praising!  What a blessing!  Their website is:
Praise the Lord for an awesome evening of fellowship and worship and singin' and shoutin'!  Thank you to everybody who came out!  And thanks to all the artists who came and played.  God is so Faithful, and it was great to see so many new faces and meet so many Christians from the area!  We had more new people than ever before!  Praise God!
Now lets keep sending out the call and inviting more people out!  Help spread the word!  "Let us not give up meeting together"  (Heb 10:25a)  We as a Church need to proclaim Him until He comes!  What a testimony it is for the watching world to see so many people from all different churches coming together to worship under one Name, seeing us "stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose [us]."  (Php 1:27b-28a)
Our goal is to get as many different churches as possible out to celebrate together!  We need to fill up that gym . . . and then move to the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove (just kidding, but that would be pretty sweet! - imagine 6,000 Christians singing once a month!!)
If you know someone who needs to be on this e-mail list, please let me know, and check out www.shorepraise.com for all upcoming info.  Talk to you all soon and, Lord willing, see ya' on Friday, October 6th for the next coffeehouse.  God bless!
Praise be to our Great God and Redeemer forevermore through Jesus Christ our Lord!
In Him,
Serg
